WHILE most people were taking a break over the festive season, Dave Moore of Mouldbase, the South African agent for Yizumi, was hard at work installing a 400-ton Yizumi injection moulder at Trubuild in Pietermaritzburg.

The machine is manufacturing builders’ buckets and toilet cisterns for the local market. Dave has already supplied Trubuild with numerous swing-arm robots and conveying equipment. However, this is the first injection moulder they have purchased and so far it has been very well received.

Trubuild was founded in 2013 as an original equipment manufacturer branding for various large wholesaling companies and manufacturers of builders tools. Their product range consists of plastering floats, plastic hawks, mitre boxes, steel plastering and notched trowels, tile spacers, rhinolites and tiling applicators with the latest addition being the builders’ buckets.

“Business conditions are tough but sales are still ticking along nicely with two more machines due for delivery in early January, one in Cape Town and another in Pietermaritzburg,” said Dave.

He said the response to the new Yizumi A5 injection moulding machines had been very positive. Yizumi recently launched their new models which range from 60 to 400 tons featuring various ‘under the skin’ and cosmetic improvements. The larger tonnage A5 models will be launched mid-2016.

The new machines use the highly regarded German manufactured Eckerle pumps from 60 to 160 tons and Japanese Sumitomo pumps for the larger models. Response times and accuracy have been improved and the Mirle 9110 controller with 10.4” colour screen is used in the new machines. Servo motors are supplied by Phase which are very popular with many injection moulding machine manufacturers using these units.

“We have only had good things said about the Yizumi machines and this is boosting sales as the word starts to spread. There are some strong enquiries from the Gauteng market as well,” said Moore.

Yizumi is one of the largest manufacturers of injection moulding machinery in China and is now a listed company. They also specialise in die casting and rubber machines and completely bought out HPM in the USA a few years ago and now produce HPM equipment in China for the US market.

Yizumi also make a range of machines to suit different sectors of the market, such as high-speed packaging and PET preform machines as well as a range of large two-platen models which are very popular in the Chinese automotive components sector. They also have an in- house toolroom for the production of preform moulds.
