EUROTEC Engineering Plastics of Turkey, a compounder of engineering materials with capacity for 25,000 tons a year, of which over two-thirds is exported, has expanded supply to its convertors across its main markets, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In South Africa, Eurotec is represented by the AECI group company Chemfit. And SA now ranks as one of Eurotec’s main markets in Africa. What started as a trial introduction to the market some four years ago, when Chemfit first made the Eurotec compounds available to convertors in South Africa, has now become a fully-fledged model, with both the successful material grade development by Eurotec and surprisingly rapid delivery times steadily building up customer confidence.

Eurotec was established in 2004 in the ‘European Free Zone’ in Turkey and produces engineering plastics exclusively, primarily for the automotive/transportation, electrical/electronic, and home appliance sectors. Other areas in which it is involved include sports and leisure, safety equipment, garden and power tools, construction and agricultural and furniture sectors.

Making a difference via its unique structure and approach to business, Eurotec sells the bulk of its compounded materials to markets abroad. It has also managed to become a leader in the domestic market in Turkey, with its high and sustained quality, competitive pricing, alternative solutions and understanding of aesthetics.

Eurotec combines state-of-the-art technology with a high level of knowhow and a dynamic, experienced, service oriented team creating high quality products for its customers’ sustainable success.

“Due to our strategic location in the centre of big markets, we have great access with many options for transportation to Europe, the Middle East, African and Asian markets,” said a Eurotec spokesman.

Besides a wide range of standard grades, the Turkish compounder also customizes special formulations for customer requirements. Its materials all have the ‘Teco’ derivation, with its PA and PPA range being Tecomid®, PBT (Tecodur®), PET (Tecopet®), POM (Tecoform®), PP and PE (Tecolen®), TPU (Tecoflex®), PEEK (Tecopeek®), PPS (Tecotron®) and PK (Tecoket®).
